Bob's Story -

We all know the type.  He's comfortable flirting with bigotry, sometimes embracing it, and is not shy when it comes to "the blacks" or "the jews".  I grew up with many like him. And Tim, who was my best friend growing up, was like that.

​

So shortly after the 2008 election, Tim and I were on the phone when he suddenly went "wingnut" and said some horrifying things about harming the president-elect and his family.  His name-calling was right out of a white supremacists handbook.

​

He'd often had strong opinions in the past that were close to the line, but after that night our friendship was over. There was no way I could allow him to be part of my family after such a tirade.  I soon realized that I now had first-hand experience with right-wing extremism, something I'd only heard of or read about before that awful conversation.  

 

That was quite a moment.  I began to understand that for years his mantra was always about a return to sometime in the past, a place where his world-view could flourish without censure. Thus was born the slogan:

   "Vote Republican... for a better Yesterday!"

And the inspiration to enter the world of          e-commerce with an original progessive message.
